Overview

The Arktan Data Bridge service provides an Enterprise class solution to capture data from any source on the Web, Enrich it and inject it in real-time into the Echo stream server Platform. It enables a number of User Cases such as River, Trending and Community Stream. 

Once submitted to Echo, you can query the items out on demand using the Echo Query Language.

Service Features

Arktan Data Bridge connects to Social Web and Publisher sources, captures data and injects it in real-time into the Echo Stream Server. In addition Arktan enriches the data in multiple ways by including photos, videos, maps, visually engaging snippets and titles. It also adds annotations to the content that add significant value. 

The service can currently import:

Tweets

• All tweets from nominated Twitter accounts
• All tweets that mention nominated hash tags or keywords
• Links in Tweets are enriched with photos from Yfrog, Twitpic, Tweetphoto, ow.ly, img.ly, img.to, Plixi, Twitgoo etc.
• Links in Tweets are enriched with videos from YouTube, TwitVid etc.
• Links in Tweets are enriched from the title, description and images from the target page
• Tweets maybe annotated to enable specific use cases
• Reply Tweets are inserted 

Facebook

• Facebook posts from from nominated Facebook fan pages
• Comments on posts on Facebook fan pages

RSS 

• All items from nominated RSS feeds
• Cleanup is applied to each item to remove ad units and other RSS chicklets
• Items are displayed as visually engaging snippets with images, titles and descriptions extracted from links in the items.

Media 

• All videos from nominated YouTube/Vimeo/Metacafe accounts.
• All photos from nominated Flickr/Picasa accounts.
• All music from nominated Last.fm/Pandora accounts. 

Blogs

• Importing blog posts from nominated blogs.

Bookmarks

• All bookmarks from nominated accounts on StumbleUpon/Delicious. 

Others 

• Services like Yelp, Tumblr etc., are also supported.
